01Photograph the receipt
Point your phone at the receipt, or upload a PDF from your email. I Kept It reads the product, brand, model, serial number, retailer, date and price straight off it.
It gets faster and cheaper the more it sees. Once I Kept It has learned the layout of a particular retailer’s receipts, it recognises them by pattern and skips the AI step entirely.
02We work out what you're actually covered for
Two separate things protect you, and most people only know about one.
The manufacturer’s warranty is the one printed on the box, usually one or two years.
The Consumer Guarantees Act is your legal right, and it usually lasts considerably longer. It has no fixed expiry: goods must simply last as long as is reasonable for their type and price. A $2,000 fridge is expected to last a great deal longer than a $200 one.
I Kept It estimates both and shows you which one still covers you. Often that is the CGA, years after the warranty lapsed.
03We register the warranty for you
This is the part everyone skips. I Kept It finds the manufacturer’s registration channel and submits your details on your behalf, copying you on everything it sends.
Where a brand only accepts registrations through a web form, I Kept It can complete the form for you. Where a brand confirms by email, that confirmation is recorded against the product automatically.
Every attempt is visible, including the ones that fail, so you know whether a product is actually registered instead of assuming it is.
04It tells you before cover runs out
I Kept It tracks expiry across everything you own and tells you before cover ends, while you can still do something about it.
05And when something does break
You have the receipt, the purchase date, the price, the serial number and the registration record in one place. Retailers ask for exactly those things, and having them ready is usually what decides whether a claim goes anywhere.
